Challenges for a New Year - Card 2

This card was another opportunity to use a new Stamp set from the Stampin Up Occasions catalogue - Magical Day. The 3 challenges used for this card were:

This card has a Crumb Cake Base and uses Early Espresso behind the book and for the greeting. I have used embossing paste that was coloured with a mix of Crumb cake and Chocolate Chip inks then sponged with the same colours when it had dried. The book was made from 'First Edition' DSP. The edges around the book, both the card and the DSP were distressed to give that well-loved book feel.

It is not showing well in this photo, however the wizard has a coat of clear Wink of Stella and the stars have clear dazzling details to make the card sparkle. The Gold ribbon behind the greeting matches the gold embossing powder and also shines in the sun.

Check out the designers wonderful cards for inspiration on each of these challenge sites.

  1. This is such a cool card! Love the texture and that awesome wizard

  2. You put a lot of work into this card. Texture embossing can be difficult to get just right. This is cute. Thanks for playing along with the Simply Create Too challenge no. 134, Embossing.
